Overstock.com Launches O-CAR BETA

Overstock.com has launched a new tab O-CAR BETA, complete with subscription plan pricing for registered Automotive Dealers.

According to the Registration Form Automotive Dealers must complete basic registration information along with a minimum 1 month contract length. There does not appear to be any required business licensing information.

Subscription Plans range from $650 per Month to $1200 Per Month for 60 or Fewer Vehicles, and $1000 per Month to $1600 per Month for 61 or More Vehicles. Automotive listing Data must be through a Preferred Data Provider.

A Dealer Help Section is available, Dealer Introduction, and a Letter from Patrick Byrne regarding the new addition to the Overstock Brand.

For those viewing the new Tabs from the main Overstock site you will notice the "Auction" Tab has changed to "Merchant Auctions".

Overstock has a problem brewing with its newly hired director of social media, Judd Bagley, who Byrne hired to attack his personal enemies.

Turns out that Bagley - director of social media of a company with a mainly female cliente - is a screwball anti-abortion nut. He once likened abortion to "slavery." See http://tinyurl.com/trpul

One of the great benefits of living in this society is our ability to have personal opinions and beliefs.

Overstock as a company is sure to have a very diverse staff with a wide variety of beliefs among employees. IMHO Personal beliefs have no impact on an individual's ability to perform an assigned job function.
