This Christmas Morning Auction Tempest is sad to announce the passing of a Long Time Local Musician, Mr. James Brown the "Godfather of Soul".
Mr. Brown had been Hospitalized Sunday December 24Th with Pneumonia in Atlanta Georgia, and passed away unexpectedly around 1:45 Am this morning. Mr Brown had last publicly appeared on Friday at the Imperial Theatre in Augusta Georgia for his Annual Toy Giveaway according to the Augusta Chronicle.
Mr. Brown was known World Wide for his performances as the "Godfather of Soul", with hit songs including " I Got You" (I Feel Good), and "Get up Offa that Thing".
In the late 1980's Mr. Brown could often be spotted visiting one of the Local restaurants wearing his stylish scarves and sunglasses. Mr. Brown was well known to enjoy a Plain Quarter Pound hamburger on occasion, with a side of unsalted fries.
Mr. Brown will be greatly missed within the community that he supported so much through charity events.
